KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 12: In a political development ahead the Lok Sabha elections, former Assam cabinet minister and vive president of opposition BPF party, Chandan Brahma formally joined the ruling UPPL party along with thousands of party workers and followers amidst presence of the UPPL supremo and chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro today at a programme held at Kajalgaon market community complex in Chirang district.
Chandan Brahma, and his followers joined a grand rally in connection with the joining program which was organised before joining the UPPL, was started from Kajalgaon stadium playground which have traversed to national highway to Kajalgaon market community complex.

Chandra Basumatary and several senior party leaders extended warm welcome and felicitation to Chandan Brahma with traditional Aronai and bouquet amidst presence of huge gathering.
Remarkably, Brahma was became cabinet minister of Assam government for straight third consecutive term beginning from 2006 to 2021 as he was elected to the Assam assembly from Sidli constituency, and he was faced defeat in 2021 Assembly elections.
CEM Boro has welcomed ex-minister Chandan Brahma and his followers to the UPPL folding, said that it is a great moment for the people of Bodoland region to have welcome the newly joined members from the BPF party.
He said that people cutting across the communities in the Bodoland region have expressed their well gesture towards the welfare and development activities being initiated by UPPL party and it’s government of Bodoland Territorial Region.He mentioned that the people want peace & progress, and accordingly people want UPPL party amongst the citizens.
Boro said that UPPL party is committed to work for all round development and welfare of the citizens,and rendering services for bringing healthy wellbeing of the peoples since it’s inception to the power.
He said that the popularity of the UPPL party is now gaining up it’s momentum amongst the citizens,and subsequently joinings of peoples are taking place everyday across the region.
He said that the NDA alliance (BJP, UPPL and AGP) candidates including Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency of the state are winning the majority seats with mass supports in the ensuing Parliamentary elections.
He has expressed his hopeful that NDA candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, Joyanta Basumatary is winning the Lok Sabha elections in huge margin of votes as peoples cutting across the communities are coming forward to extend support to the NDA alliance candidate.
On the question of opposition BPF, CEM Boro said that the BPF party has now become irrelevant amongst the citizens in today’s juncture, as BPF party failed to address the people’s grievances in their 17 year rule in Bodoland Territorial Region.
After joining the UPPL party, Chandan Brahma, said that he joined the ruling UPPL party along with his thousands of party followers. He praised the UPPL party led BTR government, said that the BTR government’s effort initiatives are very much be appreciated in today’s hour. He said that he joined the UPPL party to render services for humanity welfare and uplift amongst peoples. He has predicted that the BPF’s present scenario is gone to the bottom, and accordingly BPF’s hemoglobin metre gone under 5, and post Lok Sabha elections it’s position will be worsening with metre of 3 to the bottom.
He said that BPF party is lost it’s mass based amongst the citizens.
He said that NDA alliance candidates are getting majority win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Means, former president of AKRSU, Arun Roy and 31 other members and leaders of AKRSU have joined the UPPL party today at a programme held at the central office of UPPL party in Kokrajhar.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, MLA Lawrence Islary and several senior party leaders have accorded warm welcome and felicitation to Roy and his followers with traditional Aronai and party mafflers.
” I’m very happy to have welcome the newly joined members to our party to work towards resolving the issues of the Rajbongshi community. Our party will put forward the demands of the Rajbongshi community to the central Government and seek solutions”, he added.
