KOKRAJHAR, FEB 26: Along with the rest of the state, the Tangla Railway station in Udalguri district today has been accorded redevelopment opportunity amongst the seven railway station in the state of Assam.
Remarkably, a total of 553 railway stations across the country of India have been getting opportunities for redevelopment under the Ambit Bharat Station Scheme.
On Monday, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stones for the redevelopment of 553 railway stations across the nation, amounting worth over ₹41000 crores, as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for bringing healthy welfare and railway communication of the country.
The Tangla Railway Station in Udalguri district is among the seven stations in Assam which will see complete transformation under the initiative, enhancing ‘ease of travel’ and giving an immense impetus to tourism in our region.
During the event, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro graced the occasion, and witnessed foundation laying ceremony virtually implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CEM Boro expressed his happiness and overjoyed while attending the event that gathered a huge gathering at Tangla Railway Station with many dignitaries & respected citizens on the momentous occasion.
He said that the BTR government, state and central governments are jointly working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the country,and accordingly today laid the foundation stone to redevelopment of the Tangla Railway station.
CEM Pramod Boro also laid the foundation stone to construct of Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Science at Ambagaon in Udalguri district.
Boro was accompanied with BTR executive member Dr Nilut Swargiary, BTR MCLA Sanjoy Swargiary.
