Bodoland Sports Meet begins in Kokrajhar 3

KOKRAJHAR, FEB 15: The second edition of Bodoland Sports Meet 2024 begins from Thursday with three days programme being held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) stadium, Kanthalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar.
The event was organized under the initiative of Sports & youth welfare department, government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and Bodoland Indigenous Games Association(BIGA) to create sporting environment across the region.

The chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro inaugurated the event in the presence of BTR executive member Daobaisa Boro, sports personalities other dignitaries.
Nearly 1000 participants from five districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) including Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur and Udalguri are participating in five sports discipline like Athletic, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Archery, and Indigenous games during the event.
Moreover, Divangya Sports has been also conducted under the Bodoland Sports Meet for the first time.

CEM Pramod Boro said that the sports is life in Bodoland Territorial Region. He has extended his best wishes to all the participating sportspersons for a fabulous event ahead, said that it is a good step for creating good sports personalities.
“It is a happy moment to inaugurate the second edition of Bodoland Sports Meet at SAI Stadium, Kokrajhar.My best wishes to all the participating sportspersons for a fabulous event ahead”, he added.
Among others, secretary of Assam Football Association Dr Sangrang Brahma, president All Assam Masters Athletes Association Maguram Balary were prominent attendees in the event.
