KOKRAJHAR, JAN 10: In a significant step to enhance livelihood of weavers/artisans of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, ceremonially launched the Centralized Weavers Demographic Database” and “Online Design Repository” under the capacity building programme using ICT tools & technology at a programme held at BTC Secretariat conference hall, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.
Notably, the Centralised Weaver Demographic Database, and the Online Design Repository, implemented by C-DAC, Kolkata in association with Handloom & Textile department, BTC, will be excellent tools in BTC government’s mission of empowering the talented weavers of BTR.
CEM Boro has lauded the initiative, and expressed his hopeful that the Database procedure will be able to ensure that every weaver & artisan of BTR is able to avail the benefits of the flagship schemes in Bodoland region.
He has expressed his happiness while launching the initiative initiated by the department of Handloom and Textile, BTR government.
The launching ceremony was attended by BTR executive member, Dhananjay Basumatary;Achit Kumar Singh, chief project coordinator, C-DAC, Kolkata; Samaresh Das, Principal Engineer, C-DAC, Kolkata; senior officials of government of BTR.
