KOKRAJHAR, OCT 30: Ranjit Basumatary, the executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) laid the foundation stone for the chainlink fencing at Parbathjora Rajpara Part I near Mahamaya in Kokrajhar district on Monday.
The fencing protection initiative has been funded by the ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change, government of India, and is implemented by the department of Forest of Bodoland Territorial Region government.
The initiative has been emphasizing for enhancement of the protection and preservation of the vital forest area in Bodoland Territorial Region, and bringing a healthy uplift of the green Bodoland.
With the completion of the initiative, the fencing will serve as a vital barrier securing the forest’s boundaries. It will prevent unauthorised access and encroachment, safeguarding the area’s rich biodiversity and natural resources.
EM Basumatary has lauded the concerned departmental authorities for initiating the steps while conservation of the natural resources and preservation of the rich biodiversity across the region.
He said that the BTR government and forest department is working dedicatedly towards the protection and conservation of the environment and forest in the region.
