KOKRAJHAR, OCT 13: A total of 12,798 students, those are studying in class IX including 6,988 girl and 5,810 boys students are getting opportunity to receive bicycles in the entire Kokrajhar district. Notably, the bicycles were distributed among 3.78 lakh students of Class 9, studying in government and provincialised schools across the entire state.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region ceremonially distributed the bicycles at a programme held at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Friday amongst the students who are studying in government and provincialised schools those are coming from remote areas.
The bicycles were distributed amongst the needy students under a special initiative of government of Assam and Bodoland Territorial Region government to tender services to the students.
On the occasion, the CEM Pramod Boro ceremonially distributed the bicycles to 10 students.
CEM Boro said that the BTR government and Govt of Assam have been emphasizing to render services for bringing quality educational upliftment in Bodoland region, and subsequently distributed bicycles amongst the needy students those are studying class IX.
He informed that the bicycle giving is a special initiative initiated by the Govt. of Assam, under the leadership of CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma across the state. He has expressed his hopeful that the noble initiative will hugely benefit the students coming from remote areas, he said adding that this forward step of Hon’ble CM’s vision, we will ensure that no student is deprived of education.
He has extended his sincere thanks to the chief minister Dr Sarma for initiating the social noble venture to extend educational development.

Among others, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Jiran Basumatary, BTC executive member Reoreoa Narzihary, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi were present in the event.
