KOKRAJHAR, OCT 2: With the coinciding the celebration of 154th birth anniversary of Mahandas Karamchand Gandhi, father of the nation, the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), on Monday have launched more nine new projects & schemes to meet new heights of development and welfare aspects in Bodoland region.
The Gandhi Jayanti celebration was held at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari in Kokrajhar amidst huge presence of peoples cutting across the communities.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, ceremonially launched the new mission and schemes which are included Mission Bwiswmuti, Binod Brahma Sports Academy in Udalguri, kokrajhar, Aai Onsai Bithangki, Energy for Health Program, Bodoland sports excellence Award, Bodoland Cancer Care Trust, Establishment of Bodoland Rural Industries Centre in BTR, People’s Constituency Development and The Lakhpati Mahila Plan, the CEM Dashboard Portal Establishment of 5 Gender Resource Centre, and Farmer’s Database Portal of BTR.
The Gandhi Jayanti was organised by the government of Bodoland Territorial Region under the theme of peaceful, smart and green Bodoland.
A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was also signed during the occasion in between Selco Foundation and government of BTR to work jointly towards the distribution of solarization in 500 health centres across the BTR districts.
The PM Fasal Bima Yojna Schemes financial support was also distributed amongst the farmers in BTR.
CEM Boro while highlighting about the newly launched mission and schemes, said that these initiatives will make more ushering of sustainable development and welfare amongst the citizens in Bodoland region.
He said that the Mission Bwiswmuthi will be a digital single-window for land & revenue related services like, Mutation by right of Inheritance; Mutation after Deed Registration; Partition for Disputed Cases; etc
He said that the revolutionary “Mission Bwiswmuthi” initiative of Govt of BTR is aimed at bringing citizen centricity and transparency through the digitisation of land & revenue related services while empowering the people of BTR.
“Today’s launch makes the BTC the only Sixth Schedule Council in the entire Northeast to completely digitize its land records & render streamlined online services to its citizens”, Boro added.
He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the society, and accordingly working dedicatedly towards the welfare and uplift of the citizens.
He has recalled contributions and dedication of Gandhiji on his anniversary, said that Gandhi was leader of non violence and today the day was observed as international non violence day across the world.
“Gandhiji’s ideology and philosophy will always be remembered amongst citizens of the world “,Boro said.
Earlier, CEM Pramod paid floral tribute at the statue of Bapuji at Mahatma Gandhi Children Park and BTC Secretariat main Gate in the presence of BTCLA Speaker Katiram Boro, Executive members Reoreoa Narzihary, Ranjit Basumatary, MLA Lawrence Islary and others participated.
A street play on non-violence and Swachhata was also showcased by students of Basic Training Centre, Kokrajhar.
An oath to keep the city and its surrounding clean was also taken at the meeting.
