KOKRAHAR, AUG 18: A six-member’s delegation team from government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) under the leadership of the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro visited Chhatisgarh to study about the Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) model of the government of Chhatisgarh on Thursday.
The delegation visited at different three RIPA centres in Raipur district to understand the working & role of RIPA centres in generating local employment opportunities for the youth & self help groups (SHGs) of the state.
The team was comprised of deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, BTC Secretary Jatin Bora and senior government officials.
Notably, the RIPA centres provide shed space for the local production of various eatables like namkeen, cakes, biscuits, etc. & household items like detergents, agarbattis, etc. 300 such centres have been set up across the state of Chhattisgarh at a unit cost amounting of ₹2 Crores per centre in an area of 4-5 acres.
The delegation team members have also interacted with the RIPA office bearers and working members to gather knowledge and developmental experience in a broader way.
CEM Pramod Boro informed that the BTR government has been stepping up to create employment opportunities amongst the youths in the region and accordingly planning to set up RIPA like rural industrial centres to boost up local entrepreneurship and jobs.
