KOKRAJHAR, AUG 16: Along with rest of the state, the Kokrajhar district administration celebrated the 77th Independence Day on Tuesday with befitting programme scheduled at Govt. HS & MP School parade ground in Kokrajhar-the city of peace of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro hoisted the national flag on the occasion amidst presence of huge gathering that marked smooth successful with various programmes.
Boro received guard of honour presented march-past by police personnel, NCC, students contingents from different school, colleges that witnessed an attraction among the audience.
A multi-cultural representing different communities was demonstrated to mark the celebration.
Boro earlier, paid homage to national martyrs at Swahid Bedi.
Award and felicitation was also presented to the persons those were successfully come out in their respective field including students of highest marks scorer in HS/ HSLC in the entire Kokrajhar district.
Kin of national martyr families members were also accorded welcome and felicitation with traditional Aronai on the occasion.
In his speech, CEM Pramod Boro, extended warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens of the state on the occasion of Independence Day.
He said that BTR region is getting more developmental aspects since post signing of the BTR peace accord.
He informed that all clauses of the BTR peace accord are getting implementation one after another as per the spirit of BTR accord.
He said that citizens of the state gets 77th Independence Day this year and getting healthy democratic integration across the country.
“We must strengthen the Independence Day spirit among the citizens in the state. India is a greatest democratic country in the world, so we must maintain peace and tranquility among the society”, Boro said.
He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of region and emphasises for bringing corruption free environment across the society to have an equality opportunity and rights.
He said that the BTR government is initiated several vision and mission towards the welfare and uplift of the peoples including educational upliftment, skill development mission, livelihoods earning strategies are so far initiated for the welfare of the peoples.
He said that BTR government has been stepping to bring a community happiness environment among the society.

CEM Boro, Pramod Boro has made an appealed to the anti-talk faction of United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) led by Paresh Baruah to shun violence and come to the mainstream to build a peaceful state of Assam. He said that the governments is stepping to bring massive welfare and development of the state as well country.
On Manipur situation, Boro also appealed to all citizens of the state to maintain peace and tranquility to end the ongoing crisis situation.
Various organisations, government offices have including ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) party also celebrated the Independence Day at their respective offices.
UPPL working president and Rajya Sabha MP, Rwngwra Narzary hoisted national flag on the occasion of Independence Day being held at youth central office, Habrubari in Kokrajhar.
Party leader and members of UPPL party in large numbers participated the celebration.
Meanwhile, the government of Bodoland Territorial Region celebrated the Independence Day with day-long programme scheduled held at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari in Kokrajhar.
During the celebration, various developmental scheme, vision and missions of BTR government including Fin Rwdwmkhang Bithanki, Bodoland Green Mission were launched.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro ceremonially distributed laptop and printers amongst the CRCCs on the occasion.
Cheques of Rs.24 lakh each was distributed amongst the five cooperative society under the Fin Rwdwmkhang Bithanki.
A total of 14 best school adoptors were also accorded warm felicitation amidst huge presence of public gathering on the Independence Day celebration.
