KOKRAJHAR, JULY 22: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) staged a protest demonstration on demand of removal/suspension of vice chancellor Prof. Laishram Ladusingh from Bodoland University and immediate appointment of in-charge vice chancellor of Bodoland University to make healthy reign in the university.
A memorandum was submitted to the Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam & Chancellor of Bodoland University Raj Bhawan, Karghuli, Guwahati through the District Commissioner, Kokrajhar and sought intervention from governor into the Bodoland University ongoing situation.

Hundreds of students union activists and citizens carried out a protest demonstration with holding placards in front of the university entrance gate today and immediate intervention to case of Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh, who is incumbent Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University despite being accused and arrested person now on bail with pre-arrest bail.

Prof Ladusingh is being accused and arrested person on corruption charges by Directorate of vigilance & anti corruption and CM’s Vigilance Cell (Case no. 01/2022 US 120B/420/409 IPC R/w Sec. 13(ay13(2) of PC Act, 1988). This is very clear from the letter issued by the Chief Secretary of Assam to the Higher Education department is apparent and very serious case that the Department of Education is to take action against
such delinquent serving officials who were already accused and arrested. This lelter is very clearly stating that the systematic changes and transparency to ensure prevention of corupt practices in their offices must be conducted.

” Being accused and charged under IPC 120b as an offence of criminal conspiracy 420 Cheating with dishonesty and 409 Criminal breach of Trust as a public’s corruption charges under section 13(ay13(2) of Prevention of Corruption of Act. 1988. Though he has obtained pre-arrest bail, it cannot be ruled out from the suspicion that if he is in office may do the act of criminal conspiracy and try to hide the evidence against the charges levied on him.

Hence, Sir the case being under investigation by the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti Corruption and CM’s Vigilance Cell (Case no. 01/2022 US 120B/420/409 IPC R/W Sec. 13(a)13(2) of PC Act, 1988). Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh must be removed from the present position of Vice Chancellor of BU and he suspended immediately, it is unwise that Accused with Criminal charges under JPC and PC Act. is holding such a prestigious position at Bodoland University. So, to prevent from further corrupt practice by rro. b

Thus the All Bodo Students Union on behalf of the entire student fraternity and for the smooth functioning of Bodoland University, we place the following demands for your urgent intervention and action against such corrupt incumbent Vice Chancellor who will bring down the fame and image of the Bodoland University”, the students union leaders said.
