KOKRAJHAR,NOV 13: The fates of three candidates of the 31 No.Sidli constituency bye-election have been sealed on the EVMs as 71.50 percentage turnout of the poll was recorded till the 5 pm on Wednesday.
The bye-election to the Sidli constituency in Chirang district was passed off fair and smooth with recorded over 71.50 percentage turnout of the polling across the Sidli constituency.
The polling was took place in 273 polling stations across the Sidli constituency which was started at 7 am amidst tight security vigil arrangements,and witnessed a healthy atmosphere along the voting centres as voters were seen long queue to franchise their democratic voting rights since morning.
The UPPL candidate, Nirmal Kumar Brahma, backed by the NDA alliance cast his vote along with family members at the Bhawanipur LP school polling station in the morning.
Lok Sabha MP of Kokrajhar, Joyanta Basumatary cast his vote along with family members at the Thangabari LP School polling station under Sidli LAC.
Notably, three candidates contested the Sidii LAC bye-election, representing UPPL candidate, backed by the NDA alliance, Nirmal Kumar Brahma, Sanjib Wary of Congress and Suddha Kumar Basumatary of BPF party.
The bye-election to Sidli LAC was necessitated following MLA Joyanta Basumatary tendered his resignation after elected to the Lok Sabha as Member of Parliament (MP) during the last Parliament elections held in June last.
A triangular contest scenerio has been witnessed across the constituency in Sidli constituency,and accordingly a healthy congenial environment was saw.
“The bye-election environment has been seen scenerio like festivity fervour as common voters are coming out from their house in the morning to elect their public representative from the Sidli constituency.The voters have expressed their happiness and gladness as the polling was concluded in a fair and smooth environment “, said a senior citizen in Sidli LAC.
Nirmal Kumar Brahma, UPPL candidate, backed by the NDA alliance, stated that the UPPL candidate is getting majority support in the Sidli LAC,and he is getting last laugh.He said that peoples cutting across the communities have extended their support to UPPL candidate in the Sidli LAC bye election.He said that he is winning the by-elections held today as citizens have casted their votes in favour of NDA alliance backed UPPL candidate.
He stated that the important of opposition BPF party has now declined amongst other citizens.He said that opposition BPF and Congress party’s candidates have not been regarded from the citizens.He said that BPF party is now become irrelevant amongst the common masses.
Pramod Boro,the chief executive director in Bodoland Territorial Region and UPPL president,. stated that the candidature of Sidli LAC have received a good response along the society He said that the bye election was passed off peaceful and smooth environment across the Sidli LAC.He has made prediction that the UPPL candidate in Sidli LAC is winning the by-election in a margin of over sixty thousand votes.
