KOKRAJHAR,MAR 3: The 65th annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha is set to take place at Bijni Borlaogaon, in Chirang district in January 2026 next year.
A general meeting was held on Sunday at the Bijni Sub-Divisional Library Hall in the presence of Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Dr Surath Narzary and General Secretary Nilakanta Gayary to discuss the event’s organization.
During the meeting, a 91-member’s Reception Committee was formed to oversee the preparations, with former Bijni MLA, Kamalsingh Narzary as the chairman and Bijni district Tribal Sangha president Ankleshwar Basumatary as the chief convenor. Additionally, 24 sub-committees were established to ensure smooth execution of the conference.
Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Dr Surath Narzary stated that the upcoming conference would be a historic milestone, marking the 75th year (Platinum Jubilee) of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, which was founded on November 16, 1952, at Basugaon (Ranchaidham ) in Chirang district.He said that the conference will discuss on the uplift and development of the Bodo language, education and literary.He said that the reception committee has been formed to conduct the conference in a grand smooth successful.
