57th ABSU Conference Begin at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar

More than 6000 delegates takes part in the delegate session 

KOKRAJHAR ,MAR 13: The 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) began from Thursday with a four-day-long vibrant event at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma, in the Kokrajhar district. Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma inaugurated the Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma memorial main pandal of the conference. Gossaigaon MLA Jiron Basumatary inaugurated the main gate, while BTC executive member Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the exhibition amidst a well attended gathering.

The four-days conference will witness a series of educational sessions, literary activities, cultural programs, and key discussions on various issues concerning the Bodo community.
A lighting of the lamp for peace and prosperity was organised on the occasion to mark the vibrant event.

Noted social worker and member of the central selection board (CSB) of Bodoland Territorial Region government, Jiren Basumatary inaugurated the event in the august presence of ABSU president Dipen Boro, general secretary Khanindra Basumatary, Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Lok Sabha MP, Joyanta Basumatary, MLA Lawrence Islary, and several dignataries. A delegation session of the students union was held on the occasion which was chaired by Abit Narzary,, speaker of the ABSU.

More than 6000 delegates and observers representing different 22 district committees of the state and unit committees across the country are attending the event.
During the delegate session,the students union discussed at length on various issues including education, social integration amongst the citizens.

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will attend the Open Session as the chief guest on the concluding day on 16th March. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Executive Member of BTR, Pramod Boro, and several ministers and MLAs will also be present. The session is expected to draw an estimated two lakh attendees across the state.
Union Education Minister,Dr Dharmendra Pradhan will take part in an interactive session with students tomorrow 14 March addressing key educational concerns and policies.
The first day of the event saw a grand participation in all events being organised at the conference venue.

ABSU president Dipen Boro told that the conference have received a good response from all sections of the society across the state.He said that the conference began today with four day colourful programme at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma.He said that people cutting across the communities are waiting to accord warm welcome the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in the conference.
